Kimo...No???

The trend that looks like you stole Grandma's summer tapestries, and draped them around your shoulders. Protecting yourself from the impending fall air. Did you steal your Great Grandma's side table cloth and sew it together to make a garment to establish that yes…yes indeed I am a hipster.

The 2014 Fall Kimono.

I as A Blonde Half Jap can wear your Mother's old table cloth as a wind breaker. My ancestors rocked the Kimono. But you round eyes. When you grace the outer world with this new trend. One has to ponder your decision. You drape this frock over you shoulders, look in the mirror and decide. Yeah…..I look good. I look good in this Asian garment that is typically meant (now in days) for after bathing. Then walk out your door.

You know what my round eyed friends?! You look good. Maybe exotic, keep rocking those loose fitting ethereal kimonos. They will shield you from the frigid fall air. They will keep you warm until the temperature drops to 68 degrees. Frolic in your kimonos at least until mid October. I know I will.

How to Win at Buffalo Exchange

Giving clothes to Buffalo Exchange. It's an adventure. It's a triumph if they actually buy some of your clothes. There is a method to the madness. A systematic approach to convincing the clerks at Buffalo Exchange to buy your outdated clothes. The trick is.....dress like a "Hipster".
I apologize for the unmade bed in the background.
This is not the normal way I dress. My husband likes to comment all the time that my wardrobe consists of black. Black jeans, black t-shirts, black shoes, just black everything. I think I'm pulling off this hipster look quite well. This is the exact outfit I wore when taking my "old" clothes to Buffalo Exchange.

I have tried to sell my clothes to buffalo exchange multiple times throughout the years. It's never worked. I occasionally get a win. They may accept a t-shirt or a dress and I get a $15 in store credit or $7 cash pay out. The clerks that accept your clothes are such judges. I didn't understand why they were not accepting more of my clothes. My clothes are trendy and fashionable. I'm also knowledgeable of seasons. I don't try to sell shorts in November. Even though "hipsters" wear shorts with tights in the winter.

So I tried an experiment. The clerks that work at Buffalo Exchange are "hipsters". Would they accept clothes from a fellow "hipster". I categorize myself as a lady with a subdued style. I wouldn't say I am a jeans and a t-shirt girl. I try to fit in. I don't necessarily like to stand out. I don't have crazy hair. I don't wear crazy makeup. However, I don't want to be a "plain Jane". I give my own A Blonde Half Jap "flair". Which I guess means. I like to dabble with the trends, but they don't control my style.

To the Buffalo Exchange clerk I seem, ordinary. So, I think they judge this ordinary chick in front of them and don't buy my acceptable clothes. With this thought in mind I chose to dress the Buffalo Exchange part, and I dressed like a "hipster". "When in Portland, do as the hipsters do." I showed up with my brown paper bag of clothes. With this thought in mind, "Hazzah!" I received the most epic payout I have ever received. $27 cash payout.

So, here's a little piece of advice. If you want to sell your clothes to Buffalo Exchange. Play the part.
